Meet Amy.
We asked Amy to take a few minutes out of her busy day being an #AdminSuperHero, to tell us a little bit about her role at The S.E. Farris Law Firm.
Q: How long have you been with The S.E. Farris Law Firm and what is your title?
A: I have been with the firm for five years as an Administrative Assistant.
Q: What are your job responsibilities? Or rather, what’s a normal day look like for you?
A: A normal day is really hard to describe, since every day is different. I am really the behind the scenes person keeping things organized and on track. My voice is usually the voice you hear when you call the firm and then I handle a majority of the office duties like filing, client follow up, ordering medical records, billing, pushing to get money in for our clients, and just about anything else that keeps things moving forward.
Q: What is your favorite part of your job?
A: That there is variety to my day. No two days are the same and I wear a lot of hats to help our clients and keep their cases moving smoothly.
Q: Tell us about a particular case that you bonded with a client, felt like you really made a difference in their life, or just a notable case that you worked on that resonates with you and why.
A: I don’t have any cases of my own, so I work for all of our clients. In fact, I send most of the initial documents we need to start cases. I order all medical records and make sure we get them promptly to keep things moving forward. I may not be on any of the cases as the lead assistant, but I think I am involved with all of our clients.
Q. Ok, Amy. Tell us a little bit about you. Tell us three fun facts about you.
A. Well, how about this? My high school job was working the tram & greeting visitors a top the Gateway Arch. A funny thing about that job is that it led me to love. I actually met my husband on the tram. Another fun fact about me is that I love to read, mostly Mystery and Suspense. I will devour anything written by my favorite writers, Mary Higgins-Clark or Harlan Coben. And I just became an empty nester this fall. My youngest son went off to college at the University of Missouri. He lives on campus, primarily because he is a soccer player, and I only get to see him for laundry and food!
