About Spencer
In addition to running his own law firm for almost three decades, Farris is also involved in many organizations. He has served on the Missouri Association of Trial Attorneys (MATA)* Board of Governors and was associate editor and editor of its magazine for several years. He is also a member of the American Association for Justice and a founding member of the Consumer Attorney Network, 1992-present. Farris wrote a syndicated column for the Levison Group: Under Analysis, which focused on law-related issues, typically (hopefully) with a humorous perspective. Keeping his writing wit alive, he is currently writing a similar column, With All Due Respect, for state wide legal newspapers like the Missouri Lawyers Weekly and has been featured in other publications.
After getting his Juris Doctorate from Washington University School of Law, he continued his education and graduated from the Trial Lawyers’ College, founded by renowned attorney Gerry Spence. He is also Board Certifed as a Civil trial Advocate.
Farris, an avid outdoorsman, enjoys hunting and fishing. When not in the office he can be found in a tree stand in the woods or near a lake, pond, or river. He is an amateur beekeeper, but few of his bees stay kept for very long.

Best Case Lawyer Case Examples
LeSage vs. Dirt Cheap Cigarettes and Beer, Inc. – An unborn child was killed during the robbery of his mother. Farris successfully argued, to the Missouri Supreme Court, that the child’s father should be allowed to prove his paternity of the unborn child, and sue for the child’s wrongful death.
Grose vs. Nissan – A young man was paralyzed after he flew out of the hatchback of the car he was in during an otherwise minor crash. After the trial court improperly admitted a videotape of a misleading crash test, Farris appealed the case to the Missouri Court of Appeals. The Court of Appeals agreed with Farris and held that the trial court should not have admitted the videotape. A new trial was ordered.
